Fortunately, God does not leave your life void but wants to fill it back up with something far more meaningful and life-giving than the motivation from sin you might have had before:
You need a new purpose in life to fill the former sin in your life; God wants to give it to you and wants you to live this new life after repentance.
“So, what does God want me to do with my life now?”
Like said before God wants to give you a new mind (a way of thinking):
Ezekiel 36:26
“ I will give you a new heart…”
And this new way of thinking and living is also a part of conversion talked about earlier:
Conversion is not limited to repentance but thinking different is also a part of the salvation process that includes living a new life that God wants you to live!
Acts 3:19
“Repent therefore and be converted (Change: not only turn from sin but also begin to live God’s way of life laid out in the Bible) that your sins may be blotted out (Conversion is vital to complete salvation!), so that times of refreshing (a NEW LIFE!) May come from (repenting and Changing).”
“So, what is this new way of thinking?”
The Bible Reveals what this new life is: God wants you to follow his example for now on:
Ephesians 5:1
“Follow God’s example ….”
“But what is God’s example?”
This means he wants you to become more like him in nature, actions, and character
the key to all this is that:
God’s example of how humans are to live IS Jesus!
As Jesus says, his example is from God (the Father):
John 5:19
“…Jesus said …'Truly, truly,(this is 100% true!) I say to you,…whatever the Father (God) does,…the Son does likewise.' ”
So, God wants you to become more like him by becoming more like his son Jesus:
As Jesus said to Philip and all the disciples, he now invites you to:
John 1:43
“…Follow me.”
So, to have this new life make Jesus your example and follow him as your role model:
Ephesians 5:2
“…walk in the way (of life) …just as Christ …”
Jesus wants you to follow his example!
So, you need to look at how Jesus lived, spoke, supported, and wanted to live. And look to him as your role model and try to follow in his example (and by extension God’s: because Jesus’s role model is God)!
So, God (and Jesus) wants you to become Jesus’s disciple!
But today, you probably know Jesus disciples by another name:
Christians
The very word “Christian” means “Christ-Follower”
Repentance and a permanent Change in life both go hand in hand in God’s forgiveness and it’s also a vital step in the salvation process:
Ezekiel 18:27
“…if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness (Repent) they have committed and does what is just and right(lives God’s way), they will save their life(Be saved)...”
Ezekiel 18:21
“But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins (Repent) they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right(Does what God wants and desires of them), that person will surely live; they will not die(Be saved!).”
Jesus says:
Acts 26:18
“Turn…from darkness(Sinful life) to light(Godly life) and from …Satan(The world’s way) to God(God’s way), so that …[you]…may receive forgiveness of sins(forgiven)…”
Acts 26:20
“…repent and turn to God(Convert)…”
In fact, Jesus himself says if you believe in Jesus (the first step) you will do what he does by following him!
John 14:12
“Very truly (This is 100% true) I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works (the actions) I have been doing,…”
And also as said before:
1 John 3:3
“And everyone who thus hopes in (trusts and believes in) him (Jesus) purifies himself as he is pure(Begins to live like him).”
So, for now on you need to make the decision that not only are you abandoning your sinful former life, but you are now going to begin living your new life following Jesus as a Christian.
You’re turning your back to Satan’s way (the world’s way) and turning to God’s way (Christian life)
This is what this conversion is all about.
This conversion and new way of life is called the Narrow Road (as opposed to the broad road) that leads to life (salvation) by Jesus:
Matthew 7:13-14
“…wide is the gate and broad is the road(All the false word’s ideologies and ways) that leads to destruction(Judgment/hell), and many enter through it(The majority of the world’s population is going to live in these ideologies and die in them!). But small is the gate and narrow the road (The Godly Christian way of life) that leads to life (Forgiveness and eternal life), and only a few find it (Only a FEW in the entire world right now have this opportunity! very few people even find what you have now found!).”
This is a sacred opportunity that you have here a chance many people will never receive in their natural life. Though it is still your choice, like all the others make the right choice here! Choose the narrow path!
As Jesus commands everyone to do that hears this:
Matthew 7:13
“Enter through the narrow gate…”
So In order to do this you need to make a decision to follow Christ from now on, it going to be a daily commitment from you from this point on. You don’t have to necessarily have to do this to convert, but if you would like you could tell Jesus your personal decision to follow him:
“Dear Jesus, I know Father God want more for my life now that I have repented, and he wants me to follow you and become a Christian (your disciple): to follow your example and lead in life and to become more like you and Father God. I want to say right now I want to obey you and follow you Jesus for the rest of my life, let me have times of refreshing by this new life, thank you for the blessing of a new life filled with whole purpose and truth, thank you Jesus amen.”
Finally in order to be a Christian you need to make Jesus not only your role model but also your ruler and king in your life:
Colossians 2:6-7
“… Receive Christ Jesus as Lord (your Master/KING!),…”
You did claim Jesus as Lord as the first step:
Romans 10:9
“…declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’…”
And yes, he is Lord of ALL no matter is the individual realizes it or not you’re just acknowledging that fact. However, as a becoming Christian you need to not only confess you believe Jesus is Lord but personally decided for him to be YOUR Lord of YOUR life!
John 20:28 As Thomas confessed when following Jesus:
“…My Lord….”
Romans 5:1 As Christians confess:
“…our Lord Jesus Christ,…”
“So, what does it mean that Jesus is my Lord?”
He now desires to be the Lord of your life for saving you, however before you begin to follow Jesus and making him your Lord there is a warning for you:
Though your new life as a Christian will be the best decision you have ever made and be wonderful in many ways, it is going to be costly to you…
After considering the costs of being a Christian and are willing to pay that cost, there is one last thing God requires for your salvation(conversion) to be considered complete: Baptism
